About CD Players

Our CD players are based on a modified Philips CD-PRO2 LF drive module working as a top-loader. Its construction is based on a solid cast metal enclosure, improving the work parameters and stability. Another significant asset of this drive is the integration of the photodiode preamplifier with the optical head, that improved the resistance to the interference of the signal read from the disc. The module is mounted on a special plate reducing vibration. In the models Enigma and XXX we have modified the power supply circuits of the processor, drive control circuits, laser carriage and optical system coils. The system is clocked by a clock generator with a very low jitter. It is placed very close to the D/A converter, where the digital signal is supplied from the drive via the I2S bus. The reason for that is to minimize the distance the clocking signal has to travel, especially between the clock and the converter. In the analog path a passive filtration of the signal was applied, that resulted in a better bass definition, macrodynamics, amount of details and sound transparency. The power supply is uncompromised – the current is drawn from batteries and the supply to the digital section is blocked by OS-CON capacitors, and the analog section by OS-CON and BLACK GATE N capacitors, the latter replaced by V-CAP capacitors in the top model. Optionally a classic transformer power supply from 230V mains can be used. An important asset of the devices is the modular buildup, that allows for upgrading in the future.

Specifications:

The bottom and top covers are made from 5mm thick aluminum, the side and front panels are made from glass covered with a vibration dampening material, and the feet from stainless steel. The electronic components are mounted in a way additionally dampening parasitic vibrations.

CD PLAYER PERUN CDP No 1

This player differs from the described above Enigma only with the enclosure. The bottom plate is made from 10mm thick aluminum, the top cover is from 10mm thick glass and the side panels as well as the supporting feet are from exotic wood (the kind of wood can be chosen by the customer). Due to that kind of construction we achieved better vibration dampening than in the other devices. Inn case of purchase we propose a table, that matches the equipment in visual and construction details, being made from the same kind of wood.
