About DAC

In our constructions we predominantly use 24 bit digital to analog converters from Crystal and Burr-Brown. In the analog path (the filter and the output amplifier) we use only discrete components. We have also a version with an absolutely symmetrical analog signal path and equipped with a remote control for controlling all of the functions including volume control.

A big asset of our designs is their modular buildup allowing for future upgrades of a given exemplar to a more modern version.

The digital path is equipped in a new generation jitter reduction circuit and an upsampler modifying the digital signal to the 24 bit/192 kHz signal or a receiver accepting the I2S/DSD signal. The receiver is synchronized from a nearby placed quartz generator with a very low jitter. The analog path is built from discrete components only. The drive can be synchronized from the built-in generator by means of an optional digital output.

The bottom and top covers are made from 5mm thick aluminum, the side and front panels are made from glass covered with a vibration dampening material, and the feet from stainless steel. The electronic components are mounted in a way additionally dampening parasitic vibrations.

This DAC differs from the described above Enigma only with the enclosure. The bottom plate is made from 10mm thick aluminum, the top cover is from 10mm thick glass and the side panels as well as the supporting feet are from exotic wood (the kind of wood can be chosen by the customer). Due to that kind of construction we achieved better vibration dampening than in the other devices. Inn case of purchase we propose a table, that matches the equipment in visual and construction details, being made from the same kind of wood.
