Noise filters and power cords

If you use the power directly from the wall, your system is not performing to its full potential. What is incorrect?

The power line also carries a wide spectrum of noise along with the 50 (60) Hz. All devices connected to the power line, especially switched mode power supply, digital electronics (computers), motors etc. add distortion to AC lines. RFI disturbances are everywhere. Radio and TV broadcasts, communication devices, etc. are all receiving transmissions from a myriad of sources. Audio/video system looks like a big antenna. Power lines, signal and power cables, electronic components, chassis are possible sites where noise can enter your system. High end equipment is source harmonic distortions, too. There distortions enter your components through their power supplies and raises the noise level of system. The answer to these problems is components powered special cords and conditioners. The high fidelity components work their fullest performance potential with a clean, high current power source without hum and noise. Mostly audiophile systems, the impact of main noise filters and power cords is easily perceptible. Tonal accuracy, precision, and the natural of the presentation, clarity of high frequencies are the hallmarks of quality in cable design.

There are many different power conditioners on the market, but most of them do not address the full range of power problems. The Enigma power line filter improves the performance of high quality audio and video systems by reducing or eliminating the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI) on power supplies. At the same time, it isolates other equipment from the power supply of the amplifier or other device plugged into the filter - reduces crosstalk between audio/video components.

The products are hand-made, precisely controlled and measured to ensure the promised quality level. Technology is traditional - a passive RLC filter network but our filters are truly unique because we use custom designed large toroidal coils with especially the ferromagnetic materials. It is critical part whose guarantee large inductance for improve low-frequency noise attenuation, low resistance and high current capacity without core saturation. The unit itself consists of multi stage-filter optimized for damping a wide range of frequencies. It all ends up with a definitive circuit consisting of 16 elements (coils, resistors, polypropylene/paper capacitors, able to repair themselves in case of holes in the dielectric). All connections are 100% point-to-point soldered. Filter network is fully enclosed in a steel chassis worked as a Faraday shield, very effective in reducing RFI/EMI. Ground conductor is filtered to help reduce system ground-loop noise. Chassis with components is completely filled with non homogeneous, damping material to reduce and disperse mechanical vibrations whether generated externally or internally. The high quality AC cable is permanently mounted to the filter case. The filter offers MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor), to protect electronic equipment from large energy surges or nearby lightning (EMP) strikes.

Power Cord PC-1

Enigma introduces the very massive (about 22 mm thick) cord made specifically for the current demands of amplifiers but it performs very well on any piece in the finest audio and the home theater systems. The PC-1 uses 2 pairs, twist-link, noise-canceling geometry wires, of  4 mm2 high-purity multi-conductor copper for the hot wires resulting in an equivalent 2x8 mm2. The ground is a 2,5mm2 stranded copper wire. Shield (100% coverage) for RFI/EMI immunity fends off external RF interference and protects against EM interference. For increase noise (also in low frequency range) rejection this hand made shield is very complicated and consists of the unique, non regular structures and varied materials four layers. This construction is important for more natural, life-like presentation. A wire connects the shield to the AC source ground, transfer accumulated noise back to the wall plug, lowering the overall distortions.

PC-1 utilizes soldering connections and is terminated with only premium quality IEC (any types for order) connectors.

AC NOISE FILTER NFA-10

NFA-10 is designed to complement and improvement any audio or video system powered from 230V/50Hz or 110V/60Hz line. The filter is excellent for all types of power amplifiers (tube push-pull or single-ended and solid state), but can also be beneficial for low power line-level and digital components. In contrast to many conditioners, which restrict the dynamics power amplifiers, the NFA-10 perform at maximum dynamic range with maximum filtration. The power cables are terminated with only high quality IEC (any types for order) connectors and they are identical as PC-1 cord construction.

The NFA-10 is rated to work with continuous power draw up to 2300 Watts (230V). The length may be different (depends on customer needs).

AC NOISE FILTER NFA-2

This component is very effective in many smaller, low power audio and home theater systems (preamp, CD player, tuner, turntables, tape decks, VCRs, DVD players, DA converters, headphone amplifiers, surround processors etc.) powered from 230V/50Hz or 110V/60Hz line. The power cables are terminated with only high quality IEC (any types for order) connectors. The length may be different (custom needs). NFA-2 construction is similar to NFA-10. The coils have higher inductance and noise rejection but lower current capacity.

The NFA-10 is rated to work with continuous power draw up to 500 Watts (230V).
